Big Relief for Pensioners: Life Certificate Verification Now Possible from Home

Digital Initiative Bringing Convenience to Senior Citizens Across Uttarakhand

Dehradun, May 28, 2026

In a major relief for pensioners across Uttarakhand, the state government under the initiative of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has simplified the process of Life Certificate verification through digital technology. Pensioners can now complete their Life Certificate verification online from the comfort of their homes, eliminating the need to visit government offices and stand in long queues.

The move is aimed at digitally empowering pensioners and ensuring transparent, hassle-free services for senior citizens. Currently, Uttarakhand has nearly 1.5 lakh pensioners, including more than 22,000 beneficiaries residing in Dehradun district alone.

To facilitate seamless verification, the government is utilizing the “Jeevan Pramaan” app along with Aadhaar Face RD technology. Through this system, pensioners can easily submit their Digital Life Certificate (DLC) online.

A dedicated Pensioner Facilitation Hall has also been established at the Chief Treasury Office located in Dehradun Kachahari premises. The center is continuously conducting digital verification through DLC while also providing pensioners with Aadhaar updation assistance and training related to the digital process.

Significantly, more than 1.84 lakh pensioners have been digitally verified at this center since April 1, 2024.

District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan, soon after assuming charge in Dehradun, inspected the treasury office and directed officials to maximize digital verification of pensioners so that senior citizens can avail themselves of services conveniently from home.

Pensioners can independently create an operator ID through the “Jeevan Pramaan” app and complete their verification process online. However, for this, Aadhaar details must be updated, and the Aadhaar number should be linked with both the registered mobile number and the treasury records.

Additionally, through the IFMS (Integrated Financial Management System) app, pensioners can check their verification status (active/inactive) online and easily download their pension statements from home.

To assist pensioners, the Directorate of Treasury has issued a dedicated helpline number — 8899890000. Pensioners can also seek further information via email at treas-fdc-uk@nic.in.

This digital initiative has significantly reduced the difficulties faced by elderly pensioners by freeing them from long queues and repeated office visits. The new system offers a safe, simple, and convenient method for completing Life Certificate verification.

Dehradun resident and pensioner Shrikant Upadhyay shared that he received training at the Pensioner Facilitation Hall on how to submit a Digital Life Certificate, enabling him to independently renew his Life Certificate from home in the future. He described the initiative as extremely beneficial for senior citizens.

Chief Treasury Officer Neetu Bhandari stated that the Pensioner Facilitation Hall was established to help pensioners understand and use the online verification process efficiently. She added that pensioners from other districts who are currently residing in Dehradun can also avail themselves of this facility.

She also appealed to pensioners not to share Aadhaar OTPs with unknown persons during online verification and to provide personal details only to authorized and trusted operators.
