CM Extends Greetings on Hindi Journalism Day, Hails Media’s Role in Strengthening Democracy

Dehradun, May 30: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended his heartfelt greetings to journalists, media professionals, and citizens on the occasion of Hindi Journalism Day, highlighting the significant contribution of Hindi journalism in strengthening democratic values and amplifying public voices.

In his message, the Chief Minister said that Hindi journalism has played a pivotal role in shaping public opinion, raising social awareness, and safeguarding democratic principles throughout the country’s history. He described Hindi journalism as a powerful medium that has consistently reflected the aspirations, concerns, and sentiments of the people while serving as a bridge between the government and society.

“Journalism is the fourth pillar of democracy, and Hindi journalism has made remarkable contributions in political, economic, social, and cultural spheres. It has not only informed citizens but has also played a constructive role in nation-building by promoting transparency, accountability, and public participation,” the Chief Minister stated.

Recalling the rich legacy of Hindi journalism, he noted that it has a glorious history of advocating public welfare and social reforms. He emphasized that in today’s rapidly evolving information age, responsible journalism remains more important than ever in ensuring that accurate and credible information reaches the public.

The Chief Minister also highlighted Uttarakhand’s distinguished tradition in Hindi journalism, stating that journalists in the state have consistently contributed to public awareness and social development. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of media professionals and ensuring their welfare through various initiatives and supportive policies.

Meanwhile, Director General of Information, Banshidhar Tiwari, also extended his greetings on the occasion. He said that impartiality, credibility, and dedication to public interest continue to be the fundamental pillars of journalism.

Tiwari observed that successful journalism is defined by its ability to meet the expectations of society and remain committed to truth and public welfare. He emphasized that journalism continues to serve as an effective instrument for social transformation, awareness generation, and constructive public discourse.
