CM Dhami Conducts On-Ground Inspection of Disaster-Hit Syanachatti, Assures Full Support to Affected Families
Syanachatti, Uttarkashi: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday reached Syanachatti in Barkot tehsil to review the situation in the disaster-affected areas. He inspected ongoing relief and rescue operations, interacted with the local residents, and assured them of all possible government assistance.
A temporary lake had formed near Syanachatti after the flow of the Yamuna River was obstructed by debris from the Gadgad Gadera. The Chief Minister inspected the site and directed officials to ensure immediate clearance of silt and widening of the lake’s mouth to enhance water drainage. He also instructed the District Magistrate to carry out a quick assessment of damages caused by waterlogging and debris, and to submit a detailed report. Further, he asked the administration to make special arrangements for the purchase of potato crops, which were affected due to the disruption in transportation.
During his inspection, CM Dhami also reviewed the Kupda Kunshala bridge site, instructing officials to appoint an implementing agency without delay and begin construction work. He emphasized that an alternative pedestrian route should be arranged until the bridge becomes operational. The Chief Minister also stressed on the urgent need to restore traffic movement disrupted by landslides on various stretches of the Yamunotri highway, ensuring that the pilgrimage route is reopened smoothly and swiftly.
Interacting with the affected families, the Chief Minister reassured them that the state government stands firmly with every disaster-hit household. He said that compensation and relief will be provided promptly after proper assessment of damages.
The visit was attended by Purola MLA Durgeshwar Lal, Yamunotri MLA Sanjay Dobhal, BJP District President Nagendra Chauhan, District Panchayat President Ramesh Chauhan, State Media Incharge Manveer Chauhan, Garhwal Coordinator Kishore Bhatt, District Magistrate Prashant Arya, Superintendent of Police Sarita Dobhal, SDRF Commandant Arpan Yaduvanshi, ADM Mukta Mishra, SDM Brijesh Tiwari, DSP Devendra Singh Negi, and Janak Singh Panwar among other officials.
