Nationwide “Mediation for the Nation 2.0” Campaign to Run for 90 Days from 02 January 2026

Dehradun:
In compliance with the directions of the Supreme Court of India, New Delhi, a nationwide campaign titled “Mediation for the Nation 2.0” will be conducted across all courts in the country from 02 January 2026 for a duration of 90 days. The objective of this campaign is to resolve a maximum number of pending cases through mediation, based on mutual settlement between the parties.

Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Dehradun, Seema Dungarakoti, informed that the campaign aims to provide a speedy, simple, and amicable resolution of disputes. Mediation helps in early disposal of cases, saves time and expenses, maintains confidentiality, strengthens mutual trust and harmony between the parties, and significantly reduces the burden of pending cases on courts.

She further stated that the primary objective of this campaign is to enable citizens to resolve disputes through mutual consent while avoiding prolonged judicial procedures, financial costs, and mental stress. Mediation is an effective alternative dispute resolution mechanism in which trained mediators facilitate dialogue between the parties to arrive at a mutually acceptable solution.

The campaign particularly promotes mediation in family and matrimonial disputes, property-related matters, rent and landlord-tenant disputes, financial and monetary disputes, labour disputes, and other civil nature cases.

Litigants with pending cases in the Courts located at Dehradun, Vikasnagar, Rishikesh, Doiwala, Chakrata, and Mussoorie in Dehradun district may avail the benefits of this campaign.
