CM Dhami Inspects Public Complaint On-Site, Shows Ground Reality to Officials via Video Call

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami personally inspected a public complaint in Dehradun’s Jakhan area regarding damaged footpaths. He showed ground reality to officials via video call and ordered a statewide drive to address similar issues.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami once again demonstrated his proactive governance by personally inspecting a public grievance instead of relying solely on official reports.

On Friday, ahead of a scheduled review meeting of the CM Helpline, the Chief Minister directly visited Jakhan area in Dehradun to examine a complaint related to a damaged footpath on Rajpur Road.

The complaint was filed by local resident Vivek Madan, who highlighted that the footpath, originally constructed along the roadside, was later dug up by UPCL for laying underground power lines. However, improper refilling of soil caused the tiles to sink, rendering the footpath unusable for pedestrians.

CM Shows Ground Reality via Mobile Video Call

During the inspection, CM Dhami took the complainant along and used his mobile phone to make a video call to concerned officials, showing them the actual condition on the ground. Expressing displeasure over negligence, he directed officials to ensure better coordination between departments.

He also pointed out that in several places, electricity lines were still visible above ground despite being declared underground, posing a potential safety risk to the public. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for proper planning and execution to avoid repeated digging, public inconvenience, and wastage of government resources.

Statewide Drive Ordered

CM Dhami stated that such surprise inspections would continue during his future visits across the state. He instructed Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan to identify and address similar complaints across Uttarakhand through a statewide campaign.

During the visit, the Chief Minister also interacted with local shopkeepers and residents, listened to their concerns, and assured prompt resolution.
