Chief Minister Plants Tulip Bulbs with His Family, Launches Tulip Cultivation Drive at CM Residence

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated a special initiative for tulip cultivation by planting tulip bulbs along with his family in the garden of the Chief Minister’s residence. On this occasion, he emphasized environmental conservation, innovation in floriculture, and the promotion of horticulture activities in the state.

This year, around 4,000 tulip bulbs of 17 different varieties are being planted in the garden of the Chief Minister’s residence. These include special and attractive varieties such as Lake Purple and bi-color tulips, which are expected to further enhance the beauty of the garden in the coming season.

The Chief Minister directed the Horticulture Department to prepare a comprehensive action plan for the commercial production of tulips in Uttarakhand. He stated that innovation in floriculture and horticulture would not only add aesthetic value but also create new avenues of employment and income for farmers and youth across the state.

During the visit, Chief Minister Dhami interacted with Garden In-charge Deepak Purohit and obtained detailed information about tulip cultivation techniques, climatic suitability, and maintenance practices. He also reviewed other horticulture-related activities being carried out at the residence premises, including mushroom cultivation, beekeeping, and allied initiatives.

The Chief Minister noted that Uttarakhand’s climatic conditions are highly suitable for floriculture and horticulture. He added that the adoption of scientific methods and modern technology in these sectors could significantly contribute to strengthening the state’s economy.
