Dehradun DM Directs Priority Disposal of Pending CM Helpline Complaints
Officials warned over complaints pending for more than 180 days; cases that cannot be resolved at the departmental level to be referred to higher authorities under Special Close
Dehradun: District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan reviewed the progress of CM Helpline complaints and Chief Minister’s announcements at a meeting held at the Collectorate auditorium on Monday. He directed departmental officials to ensure that public grievances are resolved on priority and warned that negligence or unnecessary delay in disposing of complaints would not be tolerated.
During the review of the CM Helpline, the District Magistrate examined the department-wise status of pending complaints, with special focus on grievances that have remained unresolved for more than 180 days. He instructed the concerned officials to take immediate action and ensure their disposal on priority.
Dr. Chauhan emphasized that grievance redressal should not be limited to merely updating the status on the portal. Every complaint must be addressed through a timely, qualitative and fact-based resolution, and the complainant should also be informed about the action taken and the outcome.
The District Magistrate further directed that cases which cannot be resolved at the departmental level should not be kept pending unnecessarily. Such cases should be transferred to the higher level under the Special Close procedure, along with all necessary details, supporting documents and a clear report, so that an appropriate decision can be taken by the competent authority.
He also instructed officials to prevent the practice of forwarding complaints from one department to another without valid reasons. Departments were asked to regularly review pending grievances and prepare clear action plans for complaints that have remained unresolved for a long period.
Instructions to Expedite Implementation of Chief Minister’s Announcements
The District Magistrate also conducted a department-wise review of the progress of Chief Minister’s announcements. He sought details from officials regarding the current status of various announcements, pending works and the challenges being faced in their implementation.
Dr. Chauhan directed departments to ensure the time-bound and effective implementation of all Chief Minister’s announcements. He stressed that unnecessary delays must be avoided and pending works should be taken up on priority.
Regarding announcements requiring land identification, the District Magistrate instructed the concerned departments to prepare the necessary proposals and submit them directly to his office. This, he said, would help expedite land selection and other related administrative procedures.
Dr. Chauhan said that Chief Minister’s announcements are directly linked with the priorities of the government and their effective implementation provides tangible benefits to the public. He directed all departments to work in close coordination and ensure that the announcements are translated into concrete development works on the ground.
He further instructed officials to conduct regular departmental reviews of the progress of these announcements. Any administrative, technical, land-related or other obstacle affecting implementation should be brought to the notice of the competent authority without delay so that timely corrective action can be taken.
The District Magistrate warned that responsibility would be fixed on concerned officials if negligence or unnecessary delay was found in the implementation of Chief Minister’s announcements.
The meeting was attended by Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue K.K. Mishra, Additional District Magistrate Administration Smita Parmar, Chief Education Officer Sri Jaiswal, Additional Superintendent of Police, District Development Officer Sunil Kumar, District Economics and Statistics Officer Shashikant Giri, District Programme Officer (Child Development) Jitendra Kumar, and officials from other concerned departments.
