CM Dhami Pulls Up Officials for Attending Review Meeting Unprepared, Sets June 15 Deadline for Pending Announcements

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed strong displeasure at officials who attended a high-level review meeting on Chief Minister announcements without adequate preparation. He made it clear that such negligence would not be tolerated and directed all Officials to come fully prepared with complete and factual information in future meetings.
The Chief Minister emphasized that implementation of CM announcements is the government’s top priority, and fulfilling commitments made to the public within a defined timeline is the administration’s responsibility.
Reprimand Over Lack of Coordination, Detailed Report Sought
CM Dhami also took serious note of the lack of coordination among departments, stating that poor inter-departmental communication is causing unnecessary delays in development works.
He directed all departments to submit a detailed and updated report indicating:
- The number of announcements completed
- The number of pending works
- The percentage of overall progress
Strict Deadline: All Government Orders by June 15
The Chief Minister issued firm instructions that:
- All pending Government Orders (GOs) must be issued by June 15
- Projects with issued GOs must commence immediately
- Any unwarranted delay will invite accountability and action
He further announced that a follow-up review meeting will be held before June 15 to assess progress.
District Magistrates to Be Held Responsible for Missing Foundation Plaques
Expressing concern over missing foundation plaques at project sites, the Chief Minister said that despite work commencement, many sites lack proper identification.
He directed that:
Foundation plaques must be installed at all project sites, failing which the concerned District Magistrates will be held accountable.
Displeasure Over Escalation of District-Level Issues
CM Dhami criticized the tendency of escalating issues to the state level that could be resolved at the district level itself.
He instructed that:
- Issues should be resolved at the appropriate administrative level without unnecessary escalation
Detailed Review of Four Assembly Constituencies
The Chief Minister conducted a comprehensive review of development announcements in four assembly constituencies of Almora district:
- Someshwar (90 announcements): Focus on drinking water, irrigation, healthcare, education, and agriculture
- Salt (69 announcements): Emphasis on tourism, rural development, health services, PWD works, and education
- Ranikhet (33 announcements): Priority to roads, tourism, sports, and infrastructure
- Jageshwar (48 announcements): Acceleration of religious tourism, culture, housing, and drinking water projects
He highlighted that Jageshwar holds significant religious and tourism importance, and projects there must be expedited without delay.
“Promises Made to People Must Be Fulfilled at All Costs”
Reiterating the government’s commitment, CM Dhami stated:
“All promises made to the people must be delivered on the ground within the stipulated timeframe. No laxity in development works will be tolerated.”
He added that the state government is committed to ensuring balanced development across all regions, including remote and mountainous areas, and that regular reviews are essential to deliver timely benefits to citizens.
The meeting was attended by Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya, MLAs from the concerned constituencies, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, along with senior officials and District Magistrates from relevant districts.
