CM Dhami Interacts Directly with Students, Says Youth are the Architects of Uttarakhand’s Future
‘Mere Sapno Ka Uttarakhand’ Campaign Receives Massive Response as 267,744 Students Share Essays and Ideas
Srinagar/Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami interacted directly with students during the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ programme organised on the theme ‘Mere Sapno Ka Uttarakhand’ at the auditorium of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University’s Chauras Campus.
During the programme, students from across Uttarakhand shared their dreams, ideas and suggestions for building a developed Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Dhami listened to their views, responded to their questions and guided them on issues related to education, employment, migration, tourism, healthcare, skill development, environment and youth participation in nation-building.
Dhami said the energy, ideas and commitment of students towards a developed Uttarakhand were encouraging. He said empowering the younger generation to become self-reliant, aware and responsible citizens remains one of the state government’s key priorities.
267,744 Students Submit Essays and Ideas
The Chief Minister said the ‘Mere Sapno Ka Uttarakhand’ campaign received an overwhelming response from students across the state, with 267,744 students submitting essays and ideas.
He said the views expressed by students reflected their sensitivity, aspirations and commitment towards Uttarakhand’s development and prosperity. Appreciating their essays, Dhami said the quality of submissions made it difficult to decide who had written well and who had written exceptionally well.
Students Share Personal Experiences on Migration
During the interaction, Class 11 student Seema Semwal from Rudraprayag spoke about her essay on migration and said she had chosen the topic because she had personally experienced the issue.
Dhami said migration in Uttarakhand can broadly be seen in two forms—permanent and temporary. He noted that moving outside the state for education, employment and exposure is not necessarily negative, as young people can gain knowledge, skills and experience. At the same time, he acknowledged the challenges faced by women in remote mountain areas, who continue to support their families and communities despite difficult circumstances.
Devprayag student Shreya Semwal shared her thoughts on ‘Pahad Rahen, Apne Rahen, Mere Sapne Rahen’, highlighting the need to expand employment opportunities in the hills while remaining connected to one’s roots.
A student from GEC Pauri also shared her vision for a developed Uttarakhand. Dhami said a developed India can only be built when every village, district and state becomes part of the development mainstream.
CM Dhami Encourages Youth to Become Job Creators
Student Tamanna highlighted migration and low agricultural income through the idea, “My mountains, my employment.” Dhami appreciated her positive approach and said challenging circumstances should not weaken determination.
He urged young people to transform challenges into opportunities and work towards creating employment within Uttarakhand.
Discussion on Government Schools and Hospitals
Student Srishti raised questions concerning public confidence in government schools and hospitals. Dhami cited the examples of former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inspire students, saying that individuals from ordinary backgrounds can rise to the highest positions through determination and hard work.
He encouraged students to remain informed about development projects and public systems in their districts and contribute positively to improving them.
More Than 500 Smart Classes Operational
Rudraprayag student Anushka shared suggestions on preventing migration. Dhami said the state’s challenging geographical conditions require sustained efforts to provide basic infrastructure and services in villages.
He said more than 500 smart classes are operational in Uttarakhand and that reverse migration is also taking place. He urged young people to set a goal of becoming job creators rather than merely job seekers.
Students Share Ideas on Tourism, Environment and Char Dham Yatra
Students Ishika Negi and Gaurav Bisht shared suggestions concerning tourism, environmental conservation and the Char Dham Yatra. They stressed the need to protect Uttarakhand’s natural resources while linking tourism with local employment and the regional economy.
Dhami appreciated the suggestions and emphasised the importance of balancing development with environmental protection and local participation.
Suggestion for Better Healthcare in Remote Villages
Student Mukesh Kushwaha suggested extending facilities such as helicopter ambulance services to smaller villages and introducing skill-development training at the school level.
Dhami described the suggestions as important and said the government is working to provide young people with the facilities and opportunities required to make the best use of their talent and capabilities. He emphasised skill development and employment-oriented education as important tools for making youth self-reliant.
CM Urges Youth to Stay Away from Drugs
Dhami said all suggestions put forward by students should be considered seriously. He stressed that every individual has a role in building a developed India and a developed Uttarakhand.
He urged young people to stay away from drugs, channel their energy positively and actively participate in nation-building.
Youth Participation Crucial for India@2047
The Chief Minister said interacting directly with students was a special experience for him. Their ideas reflected their knowledge, sensitivity, aspirations and vision for the future.
He said young people’s views would be crucial in determining what India and Uttarakhand should look like in 2047, what role youth should play and how public systems should function.
Dhami urged students to turn their dreams into goals and work consistently towards achieving them.
Focus on Technology, Innovation and Fair Opportunities
The Chief Minister said young people from Uttarakhand are performing well in several fields. Initiatives such as the Mukhyamantri Yuva Yojana are aimed at promoting youth talent in technology and innovation.
He also said the state government has enacted stringent laws against examination malpractice and “copy mafias” to ensure that deserving youth receive transparent and fair opportunities.
Students and Officials Honoured
During the programme, student Aditi Gautam presented a painting made by her to Chief Minister Dhami. Teacher and nodal officer Ankush was honoured for ensuring effective participation.
Rudraprayag District Magistrate Vishal Mishra was also honoured for ensuring 100 per cent participation of students from the district in the essay competition.
Dhami congratulated the students and urged them to make their dreams their goals, work hard and use their talent and energy for the development of Uttarakhand and India.
He said the Uttarakhand of the future would be a state shaped by the dreams of its youth, with every young person playing an important role in its development.
District Magistrate Tehri Garhwal Nitika Khandelwal, Senior Superintendent of Police Shweta Choubey, Chief Development Officer Varuna Agrawal and other officials, teachers and students were present at the programme.
