DDMA Dehradun organized a one-day disaster management training at Social Baluni Public School with participation of 820 students and teachers.
One-Day Training Programme on Disaster Preparedness Successfully Conducted.

In compliance with the directions received from the Government and in accordance with the instructions issued from time to time by the District Magistrate, Dehradun and the Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue), a one-day Disaster Management Training Programme was successfully organized under the aegis of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Dehradun on Tuesday, 20 January, at Social Baluni Public School, near Kargi Chowk, Dehradun.
A total of 820 participants, including students, teachers and school staff, actively participated in the programme. The primary objective of the training was to strengthen disaster risk reduction at the school level and to enhance quick, safe and effective response capabilities during emergency situations.
During the training sessions, DDMA Dehradun Master Trainers Raju Shahi, Sushil Kaintura and Mohit Singh provided detailed information on safety measures to be adopted during earthquakes, floods, landslides, war-like situations, terrorism and other potential disasters. Participants were also given theoretical and practical training on first aid, use of emergency helpline numbers, functioning of the Bhudev App, Sachet App, operation of satellite phones, and the working mechanism of various disaster management equipment.
The trainers also emphasized personal safety, evacuation procedures and ways to assist others during disasters, which significantly enhanced the confidence and preparedness of the participants.
On the occasion of the programme’s conclusion, School Principal Pankaj Nautiyal, Coordinator Shailendra Negi, Junior Coordinator Anjali, and L.M. Bhatt (Head of the Department, Physical Education) stressed the need to organize such disaster management training programmes on a regular basis in schools. They stated that such initiatives play a vital role in preparing students and teachers to act as responsible and alert citizens during emergencies.
The school administration expressed special gratitude to the District Magistrate, Dehradun and the Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue) for their guidance and support in the successful organization of the programme. It was further informed that the training significantly enhanced awareness, self-protection skills and emergency response capabilities among students and teachers.
