Adequate Petrol and Diesel Stocks Available in Dehradun District; No Need to Panic, Says District Supply Officer

The Dehradun district administration has assured residents that sufficient stocks of petrol and diesel are available across the district and that fuel supply remains completely normal. District Supply Officer K.K. Agrawal has appealed to the public not to pay attention to rumors or engage in unnecessary fuel hoarding, emphasizing that there is no shortage of fuel in the district.

He informed that, under the directions of the District Magistrate, regular inspections of petrol pumps are being conducted to ensure uninterrupted fuel availability and smooth distribution. The administration is also maintaining close coordination with oil marketing companies and reviewing fuel stock positions on a daily basis.

According to the District Supply Officer, a total of 167 petrol and diesel retail outlets are currently operational in Dehradun district. These include 72 Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) outlets, 34 Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) outlets, 41 Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) outlets, 10 Nayara Energy outlets, and 10 Reliance outlets. Adequate fuel stocks are available at all outlets, and measures are in place to ensure uninterrupted supply to consumers.

Providing details of the current stock position, Agrawal stated that as of May 29, 2026, petrol pumps across the district had a combined stock of approximately 2,526 kilolitres of petrol and 2,074 kilolitres of diesel, which is sufficient to meet the prevailing demand. Additional supplies can also be arranged whenever required.

He further clarified that the fuel supply chain in the district is functioning smoothly and that there have been no reports of disruptions in the delivery of petrol or diesel. All fuel stations have been instructed to maintain adequate inventory levels in accordance with prescribed norms to prevent any inconvenience to the public.

Appealing to residents, the District Supply Officer said there is no reason for concern regarding fuel availability. The administration is continuously monitoring the situation and is fully prepared to ensure additional supplies if necessary. Citizens are advised to purchase fuel only as per their normal requirements and refrain from panic buying based on unverified information.

The district administration has reiterated that petrol and diesel availability in Dehradun remains stable and sufficient, and every effort is being made to ensure that residents face no inconvenience.
