27 New Swine Flu Cases Reported in Dehradun, Total Cases Rise to 132
38 Active Cases Under Treatment; Health Department Urges Residents to Take Precautions Against Influenza H1N1
Dehradun: Dehradun district has reported 27 new cases of swine flu (Influenza H1N1), taking the total number of cases reported so far to 132, according to the health department.
Chief Medical Officer, Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, said that of the 132 cases recorded so far, 87 patients are from Dehradun district, while 45 are from other states and districts.
Of the 27 new cases reported on Tuesday, 16 are from Dehradun, while 11 patients are from other states and districts. At present, 38 cases are active and patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals.
Of the active cases, 28 patients are admitted to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, while four are undergoing treatment at AIIMS Rishikesh and another four at Himalayan Hospital. One patient each is admitted to Kailash Hospital and Graphic Era Hospital.
Health Department Advises Precautionary Measures
The health department is closely monitoring the situation and has urged residents to follow preventive measures to reduce the risk of Influenza H1N1 infection.
Dr Sharma advised people to wear masks in crowded places and use a handkerchief or tissue while sneezing or coughing. He also stressed the importance of maintaining hand hygiene and washing hands thoroughly with soap, particularly before meals and after returning home from outside.
Residents have also been advised to remain alert to flu-like symptoms and seek medical advice when necessary. Health officials emphasized that maintaining personal hygiene and taking basic precautions can help reduce the spread of the infection.
