CM Dhami Distributes Appointment Letters to 178 PSC-Selected Candidates Across Key Departments

DEHRADUN: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday handed over appointment letters to 178 candidates selected through the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) at a program organized at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. The newly appointed officials include 117 candidates in the Economics and Statistics Department, 12 in Agriculture, 30 in Horticulture, and 19 in the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department.

Congratulating the appointees, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that they would perform their duties with honesty, integrity, and commitment, contributing significantly to the vision of transforming Uttarakhand into a developed and self-reliant state, and positioning it among the leading states of the nation.

Highlighting the critical role of data-driven governance, CM Dhami said that high-quality, accurate, and timely data form the foundation for effective planning, execution, and evaluation of government schemes. He emphasized that Assistant Statistical Officers must measure the impact of various policies and programs and provide factual, actionable feedback to enable timely corrective measures.

The Chief Minister said that over the past four and a half years, the government has provided job opportunities to more than 26,500 youth through a transparent recruitment system—a figure more than double compared to previous administrations since the formation of the state. He reiterated the government’s strict stance against paper leak mafias, stating that the implementation of the stringent anti-cheating law has enhanced transparency, speed, and credibility in recruitment processes.

He added that initiatives such as the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme, the Startup and Entrepreneurship Policy, the Tourism Policy, along with growth in agriculture, horticulture, and the homestay sector, have created large-scale opportunities for employment and self-employment. These efforts have significantly contributed to the rise in reverse migration within the state.

The program was attended by Shri Kalki Peethadhishwar Acharya Pramod Krishnam, Cabinet Ministers Ganesh Joshi and Rekha Arya, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLAs Bharat Chaudhary and Savita Kapoor, 20-Point Programme Vice Chairman Jyoti Prasad Gairola, Principal Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary S.N. Pandey, and other senior officials.
