“Dhurandar Dhami”: Defence Minister Praises CM Dhami’s Governance

Rajnath Singh Backs Dhami Govt, Calls for Protection of Uttarakhand’s Sanctity

Haldwani (Uttarakhand): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday emphasized the need to preserve the sanctity of Uttarakhand, asserting that illegal settlers in the state must face strict legal action. Addressing a large public gathering in Haldwani, he praised the anti-encroachment drive carried out by the state government under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Lauding the Chief Minister’s leadership, Singh described his tenure as “historic” and affectionately referred to him as “Dhurandar Dhami.” Using a cricket analogy, he remarked, “He has already hit a boundary in four years and will go on to hit a sixer in six years,” expressing confidence in Dhami’s continued governance.

Global Concerns and India’s Position

Touching upon international developments, Singh expressed concern over the volatile situation in West Asia, noting that the world is currently going through a phase of uncertainty that could impact all nations. However, he reassured that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India remains in a stable and balanced position. He stressed that conflicts can only be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy, adding that India’s voice is being taken seriously on the global stage.

Development and Infrastructure Push

Highlighting Uttarakhand’s development journey, the Defence Minister noted that while the state once struggled with limited resources after its formation, it is now progressing rapidly. He underlined the importance of the Char Dham all-weather road project, stating that it will make pilgrimages safer and more convenient while boosting the state’s economy.

Describing Uttarakhand as Devbhumi, Tapobhumi, and Veerbhumi, Singh also mentioned welfare initiatives for ex-servicemen and their families, along with focused development in border areas. He termed the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code as a “bold and visionary step” that will promote social harmony.

Anti-Encroachment Drive and Governance

Praising the government’s crackdown on illegal encroachments, Singh said that a significant number of such structures have already been removed. He also criticized past governments, alleging that corruption was earlier concealed, whereas the current administration is taking firm action against it. He expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party will secure a two-thirds majority in the upcoming elections.

Focus on Kumaon and Jamrani Project

Emphasizing the importance of the Kumaon region, Singh highlighted the Jamrani Dam project as crucial for the development of Haldwani and the Terai belt. He noted that the current government has accelerated the pace of this long-pending project.

CM Dhami Targets Opposition

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami criticized the opposition, particularly the Congress, alleging that its policies led to demographic changes in Haldwani. He asserted that the state government has taken a firm stand on the issue and will not allow any attempts to alter the demographic balance.

Dhami highlighted his government’s achievements over the past four years, including improved law and order, transparency in governance, implementation of a strict anti-copying law, progress on the Jamrani Dam project, and decisive action against encroachments. Accusing the Congress of engaging in appeasement politics, he said that his government is committed to balanced and systematic development in Uttarakhand.

The event was attended by several prominent leaders, including BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta, MP Ajay Bhatt, along with cabinet ministers and MLAs.
