Dehradun ISBT Gets Traffic Boost After DM’s Visit; Exit Gate Opened, Organized Parking Underway

Impact of DM’s Inspection: ISBT Exit Gate Reopened, Parking Development Work Begins

Dehradun: Following the inspection of the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) by District Magistrate Savin Bansal, visible improvements are now underway to strengthen infrastructure and streamline traffic management in the ISBT area.

During the inspection, the District Magistrate took serious note of the closed exit gate, chaotic parking arrangements, roadside encroachments, and traffic congestion at ISBT. He issued clear and immediate instructions to the concerned departments for corrective action. In compliance with these directions, the ISBT exit gate has been reopened and repair work has commenced to ensure smooth movement of passengers and vehicles.

Simultaneously, the construction of a well-organized parking facility beneath the flyover is progressing at a rapid pace. To further improve traffic flow, tile-laying work has begun on vacant roadside land to develop designated parking spaces, which will help curb unauthorized and haphazard parking in the area.

To ease traffic pressure and enhance vehicular movement, the construction of crossovers has also been initiated. In addition, departments concerned have started removing roadside encroachments in accordance with the District Magistrate’s instructions.

The District Magistrate has also directed the development of a color-coded parking system under the flyover and emphasized the early operationalization of the ISBT exit gate to ensure hassle-free movement for commuters and the general public.

DM Savin Bansal has instructed officials to complete all improvement and construction works within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining high quality standards. He also stressed that minimal inconvenience should be caused to passengers and traffic during the execution of these works. The district administration is closely monitoring the developments to transform the ISBT area into a well-organized, safe, and commuter-friendly zone.
