Daughter Accused of Stealing ₹10 Lakh from 93-Year-Old Father; DM Orders Probe

DM Savin Bansal Resolves 176 Public Grievances in Janata Darshan; Immediate Action in Several Cases

Dehradun: District Magistrate Savin Bansal on Monday heard an extensive range of public grievances during the Janata Darshan held at the Rishiparna Auditorium. Residents from distant rural and urban areas raised 176 issues, including domestic and land disputes, demarcation, loan waivers, financial assistance, pensions, certificates, and encroachment-related matters.

The DM addressed several cases on the spot, while others were forwarded to the concerned departments with strict instructions for time-bound and lawful action. He directed officials to prioritize public grievances and ensure quick redressal.

Major Grievances and DM’s Directed Actions

1. Daughter Accused of Fraud — ₹10 Lakh Missing from 93-year-old Father’s Account

A 93-year-old man, unable to walk, alleged that his daughter fraudulently withdrew ₹10 lakh from his bank account. The DM ordered the Lead Bank Officer to conduct a detailed inquiry and submit a report.

2. Son Accused of Creating Fake Will; Case Registered Under Maintenance Act

Widow Munni Devi reported that after her husband’s death, her younger son deceitfully prepared a fake will to transfer all property and deposits in his name. The DM instructed officials to register a case under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act and conduct a legal examination of the will.

3. Widow Forced Out of Her House

Lata Tyagi of Panditwari complained that her daughter-in-law had forcibly occupied the house and evicted her. A case has been registered under the Maintenance Act.

4. Daughter Allegedly Occupies Mother’s Property After Father’s Death

Radha of Durga Nagar stated she had given a house in MDDA Chandranagar Colony to her daughter, but after her husband died, the daughter allegedly occupied it illegally and got it registered fraudulently. The DM directed the ADM to obtain a report from the Sub-Registrar.

Loan Waiver, Financial Support, and Pension Cases

5. Widow Seeks Relief from ₹5 Lakh Loan After Husband’s Sudden Death

Neha, whose husband died due to electrocution, requested loan waiver relief. She stated they had paid EMIs regularly for three years but she now has no income. The Lead Bank Officer was asked to verify the case.

6. Disabled Lawyer Gets Pension Approved On the Spot

A physically disabled advocate whose pension was pending was granted 80% disability pension instantly after verification.

7. Elderly Woman Assisted with Pension Documents

70-year-old Indu Rajvanshi, seeking old-age pension, had her income certificate application processed on-site.

8. Widows and Poor Families Granted Financial Relief and Inquiries Ordered

  • Pinki Devi (widow) requested financial aid — SDM directed to submit a report.

  • Widow Ekadashi Devi sought financial help for treatment — SDM ordered to investigate and report.

  • Poor women Sarvesh and Maheshwari Devi demanded PM Awas Yojana benefits.

  • Sapna sought monetary help to continue nursing studies — DPO asked to examine her case.

9. One-Legged Disabled Woman Seeks Help for Daughter’s Marriage

Rekha Devi’s request for financial support for her daughter’s wedding was forwarded for inquiry. Directions were also issued to prepare her disability certificate.


Disaster Relief, Encroachment & Civic Complaints

10. Woman Seeks Rehabilitation After House Destroyed in Natural Disaster

Anita Chauhan of Athoorwala sought support for rehabilitation. The DM directed the ADM and TDC Rehabilitation officials to take necessary action.

11. Transport Services Issue in Regional Route

Residents complained that no bus service is operational from Dehradun–Bhaniwala–Jolly–Thano. The DM asked the ADM to explain the delay in launching bus services.

12. Allegations of Illegal Mosque and Madrasa in Thano

The ADM was instructed to investigate and take swift action.

13. Illegal Cutting of Fruit-bearing Trees

Complaints from Kudiyal members regarding illegal tree cutting in Thano were forwarded for inquiry.

14. Land Encroachment Cases

Multiple complaints of illegal occupation were raised:

  • Illegal occupation on Gram Sabha and forest panchayat land in Jollyo — Tehsildar instructed to act.

  • Encroachment on Jhajhra village land — investigation ordered.

  • Illegal structures on Gram Sabha land in Kargi Grant — Municipal officials directed to remove encroachments.

15. Irregularities in Road Construction & Encroachment

Complaints about irregularities and encroachment on the Daragad–Kathiyan motor road prompted the DM to order a joint report from SDM Chakrata and the Executive Engineer.

16. Electricity Pole Placed Directly Over House

Omkar Sharma of Sundarwala requested removal of a 33 kV pole over his residence. The DM asked the Executive Engineer to take immediate action.

17. Jewellery Theft Case

Puneet Agarwal sought action on stolen jewellery and cash. CO Police was instructed to personally review the case and submit an immediate report.

18. Flood-Damaged Houses

Residents including Iqbal, Shahid, Faheem, Furkana, and Khursheed sought financial aid after their homes and bathrooms were damaged in excessive rainfall and flooding. The DM directed officials to process their assistance cases.


Large Public Participation and Departmental Coordination

A significant number of people raised issues related to demarcation, registration, pension delays, illegal land occupation, and civic grievances.

The Janata Darshan was attended by CDO Abhinav Shah, SDM Harigiri, SDM Vinod Kumar, PD Vikram Singh, DPO Meena Bisht, and other district-level officers.
