The Uttarakhand Government Revises Bakrid Holiday Date, Public Holiday Now on May 28
Treasuries and Sub-Treasuries to Remain Closed

The Government of Uttarakhand has revised the previously announced public holiday for Bakrid (Eid-ul-Adha). As per the latest government order, the holiday earlier scheduled for May 27, 2026, has now been shifted to May 28, 2026, considering the revised observance date of the festival.
According to the official notification, all government offices, educational institutions, and subordinate offices across the state will remain closed on Thursday, May 28, 2026. In addition, all treasuries and sub-treasuries in Uttarakhand will also remain closed on the day.
The administration has directed all concerned departments and offices to ensure compliance with the revised holiday order. The government has also appealed to the public to plan their important work accordingly in view of the change in the holiday date.
