LPG E-KYC Must Be Completed by August 15, Gas Supply May Be Affected
Consumers urged to complete verification before the deadline; connections without E-KYC may be placed in inactive category
Dehradun: Domestic LPG consumers in the district have been advised to complete their e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) process by August 15, 2026. Gas companies have urged consumers to complete the mandatory verification within the stipulated deadline, warning that failure to do so could lead to difficulties in receiving domestic LPG cylinders in the future.
According to gas companies, LPG connections for which e-KYC has not been completed may be placed in the inactive category. In such cases, benefits available under the domestic LPG category may be affected. Depending on applicable rules, consumers may also face charges based on commercial-category cylinder rates in certain circumstances.
Aadhaar-Based Verification to Help Curb Black Marketing
The Aadhaar-based verification of domestic LPG connections is aimed at identifying fake, duplicate and inactive connections and preventing the black marketing and misuse of LPG. The process will also help update consumer records and ensure that government benefits linked to LPG connections reach genuine and eligible beneficiaries.
The verification process is also expected to help authorities maintain more accurate records of consumers having different types of gas connections, including LPG and PNG connections, and identify such records more effectively.
E-KYC Can Be Completed Through Biometric Verification
The District Supply Officer, gas agency operators and officials of gas companies are conducting awareness efforts among consumers regarding the importance of completing e-KYC.
Consumers can visit their respective gas agencies and complete the e-KYC process through biometric verification. Several gas companies have also made e-KYC facilities available through their mobile applications and authorised digital platforms.
In some areas, consumers may also be able to complete the verification process with the assistance of delivery personnel who deliver LPG cylinders to their homes.
Consumers have been advised to use only authorised channels of the concerned gas company for completing the e-KYC process and to verify the status of their connection with their respective gas agency if required.
Consumers Advised Not to Wait Until the Last Date
Officials have appealed to consumers not to wait until the last date, as a large number of consumers attempting to complete e-KYC at the last moment could result in increased crowds and inconvenience at gas agencies.
The District Supply Department and gas companies are continuing efforts to spread awareness about the verification process. Consumers have been advised to complete their e-KYC well before the August 15, 2026 deadline to avoid possible difficulties related to LPG connection status or future gas supply.
Consumers are also advised to contact their respective gas agency to check whether their e-KYC has already been completed and, if it is still pending, ensure that the verification is completed before the deadline.
