National Scholarship Portal Scholarship Application Deadline Extended to November 30

Dehradun, October 3, 2026. An important update has been issued regarding scholarship schemes for the academic year 2026-27 for students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Backward Classes (EBC).

According to Deepankar Ghildiyal, District Social Welfare Officer, Dehradun, the deadline for registration of Fresh and Renewal scholarship applications on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), along with online verification of applications by educational institutions, has been extended to November 30, 2026.

The District Social Welfare Officer has appealed to directors, principals, heads of institutions and headmasters of all concerned educational institutions in Dehradun district to ensure that all eligible students enrolled in their institutions are informed about the scholarship application process.

Institutions have been asked to ensure the online registration of all eligible students on the National Scholarship Portal. After carefully checking the required documents and application details, educational institutions should complete the online verification of scholarship applications within the prescribed timeline.

The verified applications should subsequently be forwarded to the district level as per the prescribed procedure. The department has emphasized that special attention should be given to ensuring that no eligible student is deprived of the benefit of the scholarship scheme due to a delay in registration, verification or completion of the application process.

Students have also been advised not to wait until the last date and to complete their scholarship applications on the National Scholarship Portal well within the revised deadline. They should also ensure that all required documents and other formalities are completed properly.

The District Social Welfare Department has urged students and educational institutions to take note of the revised deadline of November 30, 2026, and complete the application and verification process on time to avoid any inconvenience in availing scholarship benefits.
