11,000 Students to Get Free Online Coaching in Uttarakhand, Preparation for UPSC, PCS, SSC, Banking, Defence and More
Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched a free online coaching scheme aimed at providing quality preparation for various competitive and entrance examinations to students across Uttarakhand. Under the initiative, a total of 11,000 students will receive free online coaching, digital learning resources and expert academic guidance.
The scheme is designed to help talented students who may not be able to afford expensive private coaching. Through online education, students will get access to experienced teachers, subject experts and professional coaching institutions without having to relocate to major cities.
Coaching for UPSC, PCS, SSC, Banking, Defence and More
The scheme will cover a wide range of competitive and entrance examinations. The target allocation of students is as follows:
- UPSC and State PCS: 2,000 students
- SSC, Railway and Banking Services: 5,000 students
- Defence Services: 2,000 students
- NET, GATE, CSIR and JRF: 1,000 students
- CAT and MAT: 1,000 students
In total, 11,000 students will be provided free coaching and structured academic guidance.
Students to Be Selected Through Online Screening Test
Students interested in availing themselves of the scheme will be selected through an open online screening examination. Eligible candidates will be able to register and apply through the designated online portal and appear for the screening test.
Selection will be based on the candidates’ performance in the screening examination and prescribed eligibility criteria. Meritorious and high-performing students will be given priority so that the benefits reach students who are genuinely preparing for competitive examinations.
More Than Live Classes: Complete Digital Learning Support
The initiative will not be limited to live online classes. Selected students will also receive a comprehensive digital learning package, including:
- Live online classes
- Recorded lectures
- Digital study material
- Subject-wise question banks
- Online tests
- Mock tests
- Exam-oriented practice
- Regular performance assessment
- Academic guidance based on individual performance
Recorded lectures and digital study resources will allow students to revise lessons at their convenience. Regular tests and mock examinations will help students assess their preparation and identify subjects requiring additional practice.
Experts from Leading Coaching Institutions to Train Students
To ensure quality coaching, institutions including Study IQ, Delhi, Mahendra Private Limited, Lucknow, and Doon Dreamers, Dehradun have been selected for the programme.
Expert faculty members and subject specialists from these institutions will provide structured preparation based on the syllabus, examination pattern and requirements of different competitive and entrance examinations. The government also plans to associate experienced professional tutors and subject experts from across the country with the initiative.
How Will Students Get the Benefit?
The application and selection process has been designed to remain simple and transparent. Students will generally have to follow these steps:
- Register on the designated online portal.
- Submit the online application along with the required information and documents.
- Appear for the online screening examination.
- Get selected based on examination performance and eligibility criteria.
- Enrol in the relevant online coaching programme.
- Access live classes, recorded lectures and digital study material free of cost.
- Participate in regular tests and mock examinations for continuous assessment.
Economic Constraints Should Not Limit Students’ Dreams
The government aims to ensure that financial limitations do not prevent talented students from pursuing their career goals. Many students in Uttarakhand are unable to afford expensive coaching despite having the potential to succeed in competitive examinations.
The free online coaching initiative is expected to provide such students with access to quality education and expert guidance. Students from hilly and remote areas will particularly benefit as they will be able to study from home instead of moving to larger cities for coaching.
Focus on Technology, Quality and Accessibility
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said digital technology has emerged as an effective tool for expanding access to quality education and creating equal opportunities for students.
He said the state government is working to connect Technology, Quality and Accessibility so that young people in Uttarakhand can access better resources, expert guidance and equal opportunities for competitive examination preparation.
The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that financial circumstances do not become a barrier between a talented student’s abilities and aspirations.
With free online coaching being offered to 11,000 students, the programme will provide structured preparation for major national and state-level competitive and entrance examinations, including UPSC, State PCS, SSC, Banking, Railway, Defence, NET, GATE, CSIR-JRF and CAT/MAT.
