Nepal’s Far West Province Delegation Meets Uttarakhand CM Dhami to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Dehradun: A 10-member delegation from Nepal’s Far Western Province, led by Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah, met with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his official residence on Saturday. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and fostering stronger ties between the neighboring regions.

During the discussion, both leaders underlined the importance of deepening friendly relations between India and Nepal, particularly in the context of cooperation in the border areas. Key issues on the agenda included promoting mutual development projects in border districts, strengthening cultural and religious links, boosting tourism, and improving disaster management strategies.

CM Dhami highlighted the shared cultural and social heritage between Uttarakhand and Nepal, emphasizing the historical bonds that connect the two regions. He reaffirmed the Uttarakhand government’s commitment to supporting Nepal in areas such as trade, healthcare, education, and infrastructure development along the border.

The Nepali delegation included Minister Veer Bahadur Thapa, members Ghanshyam Chaudhary, Naresh Kumar Shahi, Jhapat Bahadur Saud, Sher Bahadur Bhandari, Principal Secretary Dr. Kamal Prasad Pokhrel Sharma, Secretary Surat Kumar Bam, and Political Advisor Dr. Jitendra Upadhyay.

Representing the Uttarakhand government were Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu and Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman.
