Dehradun, April 13, 2026
The district administration has completed extensive preparations for the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Dehradun on April 14, along with the inauguration of the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway. Authorities are operating in full alert mode to ensure the event is conducted smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
District Magistrate Savine Bansal chaired a high-level review meeting with zonal magistrates and concerned officials to assess the arrangements. He directed all officers to maintain strict vigilance and seamless coordination until the final moment to avoid any lapses.
The DM emphasized that all zonal officers must thoroughly brief their respective sector and nodal officers about their responsibilities. He also instructed them to conduct a final round of field inspections to ensure that every arrangement is in place.
Departments including Public Works, UPCL, and Drinking Water were directed to ensure all essential services and obtain mandatory safety certificates. The DM stressed effective execution of duties through strong inter-departmental coordination.
Special instructions were issued regarding the main stage arrangements at the venue. Officials were asked to ensure proper execution of the dais plan, NHAI-coordinated expressway inauguration setup, anchoring, sound systems, LED displays, and adherence to the minute-to-minute program schedule. Facilities like internet connectivity, fax lines, and protocol arrangements must be ensured in the green room near the main stage.
Adequate arrangements for guest seating, refreshments, parking, drinking water, mobile toilets, and sanitation have been prioritized. Additionally, emergency medical services will be kept at the highest level of readiness, with sufficient ambulances deployed at the venue.
The DM also directed that all officers must report to their designated duty points on time on the day of the event. Along the proposed route from Asharodi to Garhi Cantt, special attention will be given to security, traffic management, and public convenience during welcome programs. Proper arrangements have also been ensured at Jolly Grant Airport and GTC helipad.
Notably, the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway from Ganeshpur in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on April 14. Several associated events will also be organized in Dehradun. The administration has divided the entire route into 13 zones, deploying zonal and sector magistrates and implementing robust security measures to ensure the success of the program.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Dobal, Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Additional District Magistrate (F&R) K.K. Mishra, SP City Lokjeet Singh, City Magistrate Pratyush Singh, and other concerned officials.
