PM Modi Showcases Uttarakhand Connect at Delhi–Dehradun Expressway Inauguration

Delhi–Dehradun Expressway inauguration highlights PM Modi’s strong Uttarakhand connect. From Garhwali-Kumaoni words to spiritual references and praise for CM Dhami, the event showcased cultural bonding and development vision.

DEHRADUN, Tuesday: At the inauguration of the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway, Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again demonstrated his strong emotional and cultural connect with Uttarakhand through his signature style. By blending traditional attire, local dialects, and references to regional heritage, he struck a powerful chord with the audience.

In his address, the Prime Minister used popular Garhwali and Kumaoni words such as “Bhula-Bhuli, Sayana, Aama, Baba,” adding a personal and relatable touch to his speech. Known for tailoring his communication to local sentiments, he ensured that Uttarakhand’s language and culture were prominently reflected.

Highlighting the spiritual essence of the region, PM Modi credited the successful construction of the expressway to the blessings of Maa Daat Kali and mentioned her divine connection with Dehradun. He also referred to Santla Mata Temple, Haridwar Kumbh, Nanda Raj Jat Yatra, and sacred circuits like Panch Badri, Panch Kedar, and Panch Prayag—further reinforcing the state’s rich religious and cultural identity.

Strong PM–CM Bond on Display

The event also showcased the strong rapport between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Praising Dhami, the Prime Minister described him as popular, hardworking, and a young leader, acknowledging his leadership and governance.

During Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s address, a brief interaction between PM Modi and CM Dhami was observed, where the Prime Minister was seen attentively listening—reflecting mutual understanding and coordination.


Dignitaries Present

The event was attended by several prominent leaders, including Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Gurmeet Singh, Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta, BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, and Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan.

Former Chief Ministers—Trivendra Singh Rawat, Vijay Bahuguna, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, and Tirath Singh Rawat—were also present.

Other attendees included cabinet ministers and MPs from the state. Joining virtually were Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
