Cabinet Pays Tribute to Former Chief Minister Major General B.C. Khanduri and Padma Shri Jaspal Rana

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, expressed profound grief over the demise of former Chief Minister and distinguished military leader Major General Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri (Retd.) and internationally acclaimed shooter Padma Shri Jaspal Rana during a Cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat on Thursday.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers, and senior officials observed a two-minute silence to pray for the peace of the departed souls and paid their heartfelt tributes. The gathering remembered the invaluable contributions of both personalities to the state, society, and the nation.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Major General B.C. Khanduri was an inspiring figure in Uttarakhand’s political and public life. After rendering distinguished service to the nation through the Indian Army, he made significant contributions to the development of Uttarakhand, good governance, transparency, and public welfare. His leadership, integrity, and commitment to public service will always be remembered.

The Chief Minister noted that Major General Khanduri played a pivotal role in laying a strong foundation for the state’s development and set exemplary standards of ethical leadership and accountable governance. His passing is an irreparable loss to Uttarakhand and the nation.

Paying tribute to Padma Shri Jaspal Rana, Chief Minister Dhami said that the legendary shooter brought immense pride to both Uttarakhand and India through his extraordinary achievements in the sport of shooting at national and international levels. His dedication, discipline, and excellence continue to inspire generations of athletes.

The Chief Minister further stated that Jaspal Rana not only earned numerous accolades for the country but also made significant contributions to nurturing young talent and promoting a strong sporting culture through his guidance and mentorship. His legacy and achievements will remain a source of inspiration for future generations.

The Cabinet also conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for strength and courage for them during this difficult time. Members reaffirmed that the remarkable contributions of both distinguished personalities to Uttarakhand and the nation would always be remembered with respect and gratitude.
