Artists met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on the auspicious occasion of the folk festival Igas.

25 years of the state’s establishment – Uttarakhand hosts art festivals as part of a series of cultural events.

DEHRADUN: On the auspicious occasion of Uttarakhand’s traditional folk festival, Igas, prominent film and comedy artists from across the country, who arrived in Dehradun on Saturday, paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The art festivals are part of a series of special cultural events being organized to mark the state’s 25th anniversary, and popular comedy and film artists from across the country have come to the capital to participate.
During the event, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed and honored the artists. He stated that the state government is continuously working to enhance Uttarakhand’s rich cultural identity, preserve local traditions, and showcase the Devbhoomi’s innovation and tourism potential nationally. The participation of renowned artists in cultural events inspires the younger generation and brings global recognition to the state’s art and culture.
The Chief Minister said that the folk festival Igas symbolizes Uttarakhand’s faith, tradition, and collective celebration. This festival strengthens our cultural roots. He commended the artists for their contributions to promoting positivity, harmony, and enthusiasm in society through comedy.
Renowned comedy artists Krishna Abhishek, Hemant Pandey, Himani Shivpuri, and several other renowned artists were present during the meeting. The artists shared a cultural dialogue with the Chief Minister and praised the state’s natural beauty and cultural energy. The artists expressed their deep inspiration from Uttarakhand’s culture, nature, and the enthusiasm of its people.
The Chief Minister honored all the artists with mementos and wished them well for the future.
