Information Department Tableau Secures First Position for the Third Consecutive Time at State-Level Republic Day Celebrations
Tableau Showcases Uttarakhand’s 25-Year Development Journey and Winter Religious Tourism
DEHRADUN: At the state-level Republic Day celebrations held at Parade Ground, Dehradun, the tableau of the Information Department won the first prize for the third consecutive year, setting a remarkable record. Based on the theme “Silver Jubilee and Winter Religious Tourism”, the tableau vividly showcased Uttarakhand’s 25-year journey of development along with its rich religious, cultural, and tourism heritage.
The front section of the tableau featured the Ganga Temple at Mukhwa, the winter abode of Goddess Ganga, highlighting the concept of winter pilgrimage in the state. The leading cabin depicted 25 glorious years of Uttarakhand’s formation, reflecting the state’s progress, cultural identity, and continuous development.
The trailer section presented Uttarakhand as a leading state in Ayurveda and natural healing, emphasizing its ancient medical traditions rooted in medicinal plants and herbal wealth. The second segment of the trailer showcased the Homestay Scheme, underlining efforts to promote rural tourism and generate local employment.
Subsequently, the tableau displayed the Yamuna Temple at Kharsali, the winter seat of Goddess Yamuna, which emerged as a major attraction for the audience. The final section featured rising pillars, symbolizing Uttarakhand’s year-on-year progress and commitment to sustainable development.
The side panels of the tableau highlighted the new laws implemented in the state, reflecting Uttarakhand’s strong governance framework and dedication to good governance. The backdrop was adorned with Aipan art, a traditional folk art of Uttarakhand, beautifully blending heritage with a modern visual narrative.
The Information Department’s visually compelling tableau impressed both spectators and the jury, earning first place for the third straight year and powerfully presenting Uttarakhand’s cultural pride, development vision, and governance ethos on a grand public platform.
