Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, Uttarakhand Governor Gurmit Singh and CM Pushkar Singh Dhami paid floral tributes to former Uttarakhand CM Major General BC Khanduri at his Dehradun residence.
DEHRADUN: Vice President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan, Uttarakhand Governor Gurmit Singh and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday paid floral tributes to former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and senior politician Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri at his residence in Vasant Vihar, Dehradun. Several public representatives, military officials, administrative officers and a large number of citizens were also present to pay their respects.
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan met the bereaved family members and expressed his deep condolences. He said that Major General Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri’s life was a remarkable example of dedication to national service, discipline and public welfare. He noted that Khanduri not only served the nation with distinction in the Indian Army, but also upheld high ideals in public life that would continue to inspire future generations.
Praying for peace to the departed soul, the Vice President wished strength and courage for the family during this difficult time.
Governor Gurmit Singh (Retd.) also paid tribute and said that Major General Khanduri earned immense respect through his simplicity, integrity and commitment to duty in both military and political life. He added that Khanduri played a significant role in providing direction to good governance and development in Uttarakhand.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami described the demise of Major General Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri as an irreparable loss not only for Uttarakhand but for the entire nation. He said that throughout his public life, Khanduri always prioritized transparency, clean politics and development-oriented governance. The Chief Minister added that his contributions towards the development and progress of Uttarakhand would always be remembered.
The atmosphere during the tribute ceremony remained emotional as those present observed a two-minute silence and paid their final respects to the departed leader.
