CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Unveils Shaheed Udham Singh Statue, Launches Key Infrastructure Projects in Rudrapur
Rudrapur, July 31, 2026: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami unveiled a 9-foot bronze statue of legendary freedom fighter Shaheed Udham Singh at the Collectorate premises in Rudrapur on the occasion of his martyrdom day. Built at a cost of ₹40 lakh, the statue was dedicated with floral tributes as the Chief Minister paid homage to the revolutionary icon, remembering his unparalleled courage, patriotism, and supreme sacrifice for the nation.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that Shaheed Udham Singh remains an enduring symbol of patriotism, self-respect, and resistance against injustice. He stated that Udham Singh’s sacrifice continues to inspire generations to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation.
Major Civic Infrastructure Projects Inaugurated
On the occasion, CM Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several public infrastructure projects aimed at improving urban facilities in Rudrapur.
He inaugurated a parking, landscaping, and drainage development project worth ₹120.18 lakh at the Collectorate campus. The project is expected to significantly improve parking management, beautify the premises, and strengthen the drainage system.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for a surface parking facility at Canal Colony, Rudrapur, to be constructed at a cost of ₹264.97 lakh. Once completed, the project will ease traffic congestion and provide organized parking facilities for residents and visitors.
CM Dhami said the Uttarakhand Government is continuously working to strengthen civic infrastructure, improve public services, and ensure efficient administration across the state. He emphasized that every development project is being executed with quality, transparency, and timely completion, ensuring maximum benefits reach the people.
Interaction with Shaheed Udham Singh’s Family
During the event, the Chief Minister also interacted virtually with the family members of Shaheed Udham Singh residing in Punjab. He expressed gratitude for the martyr’s unparalleled sacrifice and said that the state would always honor and remember his contribution to India’s freedom struggle.
To promote environmental conservation, the Chief Minister planted a Rudraksha sapling within the Collectorate premises.
The event was attended by MLAs Shiv Arora and Trilok Singh Cheema, BJP district president Kamal Jindal, Mayor Vikas Sharma, senior public representatives, District Magistrate Nitin Singh Bhadauria, SSP Ajay Ganpati, CDO Divesh Shasani, and several other officials and dignitaries.
