Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan Performs Bhoomi Pujan for IIM Kashipur’s Dehradun Campus
New campus to provide students with better opportunities for quality management education: Chief Secretary
Dehradun, September 23, 2026:
Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan performed the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the proposed Dehradun campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur on Wednesday. He expressed his happiness over the establishment of the IIM Kashipur campus in Dehradun and described it as an important opportunity for students seeking quality education in the field of management.
The Chief Secretary said that the establishment of the IIM Kashipur campus in Dehradun would provide students from Uttarakhand as well as neighbouring regions with better opportunities to pursue high-quality management education. The campus will enable students to study various management-related programmes closer to home.
He said that the youth of Uttarakhand possess immense talent and potential. The availability of reputed higher educational institutions in the state will help young people develop their capabilities, acquire new skills and take advantage of emerging opportunities in education and employment.
The Chief Secretary further said that Dehradun has long been recognised as an important educational hub. The presence of a premier management institute like IIM Kashipur will further strengthen the state’s academic ecosystem and provide students with a conducive environment to pursue management education and build their professional careers.
He also emphasised the need to ensure that the works related to the establishment of the Dehradun campus are carried out with quality and in accordance with the prescribed standards.
Director of IIM Kashipur Prof. Neeraj Dwivedi, Chief Engineer of CPWD Dehradun Devendra Prakash, along with officials from the concerned departments and IIM Kashipur, were present on the occasion.
