UTTARAKHAND NEWS: Meeting of State Cooperative Development Committee chaired by CS Radha Raturi

DEHRADUN: In the meeting of State Cooperative Development Committee held at the Secretariat on 18 February, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi instructed to work on a MSP ( Minimun Support Price) action plan for local grains like Jhangora, similar to Mandua. Along with this, encouraging the vision of Vocal for Local, she further instructed the Cooperative Department to move forward with the proceedings of signing MoUs with the SSB and Army regarding the supply of food grains, vegetables, milk and meat.

Raturi directed the DMs of border districts to encourage the expansion of cultivation of millets on vacant cultivable land in the border areas. She also  directed the District Authorities to prioritise and complete the target of formation 601 Multipurpose Primary Agriculture Cooperatives (MPACS), dairy and fisheries societies in all the districts across the state.

At a meeting of the Department, the Chief Secretary emphasised effectively organisation of the International Year of Cooperatives in 2025, instructing DMs to connect more and more with people in various events. She has given instructions to ensure the participation of local cooperative societies at the ground level in the planning, implementation and monitoring of conferences, exhibitions and cultural programs related to the International Year of Cooperatives.

Secretary Dr BVRC Purushottam, Additional Secretary Sonika, Manuj Goyal along with officials of Cooperative, Finance, Food and Supply Department and all District Magistrates were present in the meeting.
