Encroachment Gate Demolished by Administration After DM’s Public Hearing Complaint
Dehradun: The district administration has demolished a gate illegally constructed on a public pathway. The demolition drive was carried out under the supervision of Additional City Magistrate Apoorva Singh on 23 August .
Last month, during the Janata Darshan programme, a resident of Sirmaur Kishannagar, Pradeep, had lodged a complaint before the District Magistrate. He stated that his father, who is suffering from a serious illness, faces severe difficulties as an ambulance cannot reach their house due to the encroachment. A gate with pipes installed over it was blocking the public pathway, causing grave problems during medical emergencies.
Taking the matter seriously, District Magistrate Savin Bansal directed the Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Circle Officer Sadar, and the Additional City Magistrate to take joint action.
Acting on the DM’s instructions, the administration, along with Zebra Force, women police personnel, and the Municipal Corporation, carried out the demolition and removed the encroaching gate from the Sirmaur road.
