Preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027 Accelerated
Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan holds crucial meeting with public representatives, institutions, and trade bodies; assures action on all suggestions
Haridwar. Preparations for the Kumbh Mela 2027 in Haridwar have gained momentum with a strong focus on making the event divine, grand, and well-organized. On Friday, a high-level meeting was convened at the CCR auditorium under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan, in which public representatives, Shri Ganga Sabha, trade associations, press clubs, hotel associations, dharamshala committees, and various institutions’ office bearers, along with senior administrative officials, participated.
Welcoming all participants, the Chief Secretary emphasized that the Kumbh Mela is not just an event for Uttarakhand but a spiritual and cultural festival of global significance. He highlighted the importance of collective efforts, stating that the smooth and successful organization of the Kumbh requires active cooperation from every section of society.
He assured the attendees that all suggestions and demands presented during the meeting would be incorporated into the planning and execution process. Instructions were given to the Mela Officer and District Magistrate to ensure that every recommendation is acted upon promptly and effectively by the concerned departments.
Key discussions during the meeting focused on security, sanitation, traffic management, healthcare facilities, accommodation arrangements in hotels and dharamshalas, and amenities for pilgrims. The Chief Secretary added that with joint efforts from the administration and local institutions, the upcoming Kumbh Mela would be historic and memorable.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Kiran Jaisal, Mela Officer Sonika, District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Singh Dobhal, HRDA Vice President Anshul Singh, BJP District President Ashutosh Sharma, Shri Ganga Sabha President Nitin Gautam, General Secretary Tanmay Vashisth, DFO Swapnil Aniruddh, Chief Medical Officer R.K. Singh, SP Crime Jitendra Mehra, SP City Pankaj Gairola, Additional Mela Officer Dayanand Saraswati, HRDA Secretary Manish Singh, SDM Jitendra Kumar, City Magistrate Kushm Chauhan, Hotel Association Secretary Amit Chauhan, Dharamshala Committee President Mahesh Gaur, Press Club President Dharmendra Chaudhary, General Secretary Deepak Mishra, State Trade Board Vice President Tej Prakash Sahu, District General Secretary Sanjay Trival, Metropolitan Trade Board President Sunil Sethi, among several other representatives and administrative officials.
All participants expressed their commitment to work as a bridge between society and the administration, ensuring that the Kumbh Mela 2027 is conducted with grandeur, spirituality, and flawless arrangements.
