CM Dhami Conducts Field Visit to Maldevta, Kesarwala
Directs Officials to Intensify Relief Efforts
Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday conducted an on-ground inspection of Maldevta and Kesarwala areas of Dehradun district, which have been severely affected by continuous heavy rainfall. The Chief Minister personally assessed the situation and directed officials to further accelerate relief and rescue operations, assuring affected citizens of all possible assistance from the state government.
Highlighting the extent of damage, the Chief Minister said that heavy rains have caused significant destruction to roads, bridges, and public infrastructure in various parts of Uttarakhand, directly impacting the lives of local residents. He instructed officials to ensure the immediate restoration of essential services, including the reopening of blocked routes, supply of safe drinking water, and uninterrupted electricity.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the state administration and government teams are actively working on the ground. “All departments are coordinating closely to carry out relief, rescue, and rehabilitation operations. In view of the rising water levels of rivers, special vigilance is being maintained to minimize risks and safeguard the lives of citizens,” he said.
Reviewing the disaster management efforts, the Chief Minister noted that he is in constant touch with the State Disaster Operations Center and is maintaining regular communication with District Magistrates across affected regions. He directed officials to prioritize addressing the grievances and needs of every citizen in disaster-hit areas without delay.
During the field inspection, the Chief Minister was accompanied by MLA Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, IG Garhwal Rajeev Swaroop, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, along with senior officers of the district administration.
