Top Industrialist Mukesh Ambani Offers Prayers at Badrinath and Kedarnath, Donates ₹10 Crore.
CHAMOLI: Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Friday paid obeisance at the sacred shrines of Badrinath and Kedarnath in Uttarakhand and announced a donation of ₹10 crore.
Ambani arrived in Dehradun earlier in the day on his private aircraft, where he was given a traditional welcome by local women offering flowers. From there, he proceeded to Badrinath Dham, where he performed special rituals and prayers amid the chanting of Vedic hymns by temple priests. Later, he travelled to Kedarnath Dham, offering prayers to Lord Shiva.
The industrialist’s visit took place under tight security arrangements, with brief traffic restrictions imposed in Badrinath to facilitate his movement.
According to Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) Chairman Hemant Dwivedi, Ambani first visited Badrinath in the morning before heading to Kedarnath by noon. Dwivedi apprised him of various measures being undertaken by the Uttarakhand government to enhance facilities for devotees and improve the overall Char Dham Yatra experience.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambani expressed deep reverence for the holy shrines and appreciation for the developmental works being carried out by the state government. He remarked, “I have been visiting Uttarakhand for about 20 years now. The transformation that has taken place in recent years is remarkable. The facilities and infrastructure we see today were not there earlier.”
Ambani predicted that the number of pilgrims visiting the Char Dham shrines would increase significantly over the next decade, citing improved amenities and accessibility. He also assured full support from Reliance Industries for the conservation of the Char Dham circuit and the natural environment of Uttarakhand.
During his visit to Badrinath, Ambani also offered prayers to Goddess Lakshmi and Ghantakarna.
It is noteworthy that the Ambani family has been regular visitors to Badrinath and Kedarnath for several years and has also contributed to the beautification and infrastructural improvements at both shrines.
Meanwhile, the portals of Kedarnath will close for the winter season on October 23, followed by Badrinath on November 25, marking the end of this year’s Char Dham Yatra.
