MP Ajay Bhatt Thanks Centre for Approving ₹1,700 Crore for Rural Road Development in Uttarakhand

Nainital/Udham Singh Nagar: Former Union Minister of State and Member of Parliament from Nainital–Udham Singh Nagar, Ajay Bhatt, has extended heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for approving a major allocation of ₹1,700 crore for rural road development in Uttarakhand.

Bhatt informed that the Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned this amount for the construction of 184 rural roads across the state, covering a total length of 1,228 kilometres. He said the decision reflects the Union Government’s strong commitment to accelerating rural infrastructure growth and ensuring improved connectivity.

According to the MP, the construction of these roads will significantly enhance last-mile connectivity, support economic activities, and improve access to health, education, markets, and essential services in remote areas. He added that these projects will play a crucial role in boosting rural livelihoods and speeding up overall development in the hill state.

Reiterating his gratitude, Bhatt thanked the Prime Minister, the Union Rural Development Minister, and the Chief Minister for continuously prioritising Uttarakhand’s development and strengthening its road infrastructure network.
