Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence to review the law and order situation in Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister stated in clear terms that no compromise whatsoever would be tolerated on the issue of law and order in the state. He directed the police and administrative officers to ensure that FIRs are registered promptly in all criminal cases and that strict and effective action is taken against offenders.

The Chief Minister laid special emphasis on keeping strict surveillance over habitual and organized criminals. He said that such elements must be identified and dealt with firmly under relevant legal provisions so that fear of law is established in society and citizens feel safe and secure.

CM Dhami instructed the police to work with complete alertness, accountability, and a result-oriented approach. He directed that the functioning of police stations and outposts be further strengthened and patrolling and surveillance be intensified in sensitive areas. He also ordered special drives in urban areas to improve traffic management and strengthen public safety measures.

He reiterated that the state government is working with the resolve of making Uttarakhand an “crime-free state.” Peace, security, and good governance remain the top priorities of the government. The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police (DGP), Secretary (Home), Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Garhwal Commissioner, and other senior officials from the police and state administration.
