Dehradun Administration Activates Control Room for LPG Supply Issues, 405 Complaints Registered

Dehradun district administration activates control room to address LPG supply complaints. Over 405 grievances received, 11,000 cylinders supplied, and 50 LPG cylinders seized in crackdown against black marketing.

Dehradun,13 March. Under the directions of the Chief Minister, the Dehradun district administration has activated a control room to ensure the prompt resolution of issues related to LPG gas supply. Acting on the instructions of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, the control room operating at the District Disaster Management Authority and the District Emergency Operations Centre is continuously addressing complaints and concerns raised by citizens regarding LPG supply.

According to the district administration, a total of 405 complaints related to LPG gas supply were received through the helpline numbers 1077, 0135-2626066, 2726066 and WhatsApp number 7534826066 till 5 PM. Officials from the District Supply Department, along with representatives from all LPG agencies supplying gas in Dehradun, are present at the control room to ensure immediate action on issues related to gas supply, cylinder availability, and other concerns.

As per available information, more than 11,000 consumers in the district were supplied LPG cylinders today. However, there is currently a backlog of around 53,000 cylinders. The administration has increased supply loads to meet the rising demand, and the backlog is expected to reduce from tomorrow onwards.

The District Magistrate has directed Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to nominate their representatives for the control room. These officials will remain present at the disaster control room daily from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, providing updated information on LPG supply and distribution. They will also register and address complaints related to black marketing, illegal storage, and unauthorized refilling of LPG cylinders, ensuring that the public does not develop any fear or confusion regarding gas supply.

Meanwhile, the district administration has intensified its crackdown on LPG black marketing. During enforcement drives, 50 LPG cylinders were seized in various parts of the district.

  • In the Sahastradhara and Nalapani-Ladpur areas of Dehradun, 12 cylinders were seized.

  • In Khadri Shyampur area of Rishikesh, authorities seized 37 cylinders from a vehicle and two individuals were detained.

  • In Vikasnagar, a raid at a PG accommodation led to the seizure of one domestic LPG cylinder.

The administration has initiated FIRs and legal proceedings against the individuals involved. Officials have made it clear that black marketing, illegal storage, and unauthorized distribution of LPG cylinders will not be tolerated, and strict action will continue against violators.
