Dehradun administration announces toll-free movement at Lachhiwala Toll Plaza and Asharodi Barrier on April 14, 2026, during PM Narendra Modi’s visit. No FASTag or toll charges will be applied from 5 AM to 8 PM to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Dehradun:
In view of the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the inauguration of the Dehradun–Delhi Expressway, the district administration has put in place extensive traffic management measures to prevent congestion in the city.
Anticipating a large public turnout at the Prime Minister’s event at Jaswant Singh Ground, Garhi Cantt, District Magistrate Savin Bansal has issued key directives to ensure smooth vehicular movement.
As per the orders, Lachhiwala Toll Plaza and Asharodi Barrier will remain completely toll-free on April 14, 2026, from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM. During this period, no toll tax will be charged from any private, commercial, or other vehicles, including payments via FASTag.
The administration expects a heavy influx of vehicles, including buses and private transport, from nearby districts and hilly regions. To avoid long queues and traffic jams at toll collection points, the decision to suspend toll collection has been taken.
The District Magistrate has exercised powers under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita to implement this order, aiming to:
- Ensure smooth traffic flow across Dehradun
- Prevent congestion at toll plazas
- Maintain law and order during the high-profile visit
The district administration has urged citizens and visitors to follow traffic guidelines and cooperate with authorities to ensure the successful and hassle-free conduct of the event.
According to officials, with proactive measures like toll-free access, the administration aims to significantly ease traffic pressure and ensure a smooth experience for the large number of attendees expected in Dehradun on April 14.
