Road Cleared on DM’s Orders; Illegal Encroachment Removed with Bulldozer Action
Unauthorized wall on Municipal Corporation road demolished, public gets relief
Dehradun, April 21, 2026:
The district administration in Dehradun has intensified its crackdown on illegal encroachments on government land, taking firm action to restore public access. Under the guidance of the Chief Minister and the direction of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, continuous drives are being carried out to remove encroachments across the district.
In a recent case from Chak Tunwala, local residents had lodged a complaint regarding an illegal wall constructed by a property dealer on a Municipal Corporation road, obstructing public movement. Taking swift cognizance of the issue, the District Magistrate ordered an immediate inquiry and directed officials to submit a report.
Acting on these instructions, Tehsildar Sadar Surendra Dev, along with the Revenue Inspector (Majra) and complainants, conducted a spot inspection. The inquiry confirmed that an unauthorized wall had been constructed on the municipal road, blocking the pathway.
Based on the findings, the District Magistrate ordered the immediate removal of the illegal structure. Subsequently, a joint team of the Revenue Department and Dehradun Municipal Corporation, supported by police personnel, reached the site with necessary resources and demolished the encroachment using a bulldozer, restoring the road for public use.
The action has brought significant relief to local residents, as normal movement on the road has now resumed.
District Magistrate Savin Bansal reiterated that no form of encroachment will be tolerated in the district. He emphasized that strict and continuous action will be taken against illegal कब्ज़ा on public roads and government land.
He also instructed concerned departments to work in coordination and ensure timely and effective enforcement, so that public convenience is not disrupted and civic infrastructure remains accessible.
