Dehradun Achieves Major Milestone in SIR-2026 Campaign: 100% Enumeration Form Distribution, 86.34% Digitization Completed

Dehradun:

Dehradun district has registered significant progress under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 campaign being conducted by the Election Commission of India (ECI), achieving 100% distribution of Enumeration Forms to eligible voters while successfully completing the digitization of 86.34% of the collected forms.

A review meeting to assess the progress of the campaign was chaired by District Magistrate and District Election Officer Dr. Ashish Chauhan at the Rishiparna Auditorium in the District Office on Monday. The meeting was attended by representatives of recognized political parties, where the implementation status, future roadmap, and coordination with political parties were discussed in detail.

100% Enumeration Form Distribution Completed

As per the directives of the Election Commission of India, the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls is being carried out in Uttarakhand and other selected states with July 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.

Under the campaign, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been conducting door-to-door visits from June 8 to July 7, 2026, to distribute, collect, and verify Enumeration Forms from voters.

In Dehradun district, Enumeration Forms have been distributed to all 1,376,813 registered electors, achieving 100% coverage. Out of these, 1,188,720 forms have already been digitized, accounting for 86.34% of the total. The remaining forms are currently undergoing digitization, verification, and data uploading on a priority basis.

DM Directs Re-Visit to Households with Pending Forms

Reviewing the Assembly constituency-wise progress, Dr. Ashish Chauhan instructed officials to revisit households where Enumeration Forms have not yet been received and ensure that every eligible voter submits the required form.

He directed all BLOs and Supervisors to remain active in the field, closely monitor the campaign, and ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll revision process.

Verification of Pending Cases Underway

Officials informed the meeting that pending Enumeration Forms have been provisionally categorized into different groups, including:

  • Deceased voters,
  • Permanently shifted electors,
  • Temporarily absent voters,
  • Electors already registered elsewhere,
  • Other special cases.

All such cases are being re-verified, and wherever necessary, assistance from Booth Level Agents (BLA-2) is being sought to ensure the electoral rolls remain accurate, transparent, and error-free.

Political Parties Asked to Extend Active Support

The District Election Officer appealed to representatives of all political parties to actively involve their respective Booth Level Agents (BLAs) in the Special Intensive Revision campaign.

He emphasized that no eligible voter should be deprived of the right to vote due to exclusion from the electoral roll. He added that close coordination among the Election Department, district administration, and political parties is essential for maintaining the transparency, accuracy, and credibility of the electoral process.

Information Shared on Upcoming Electoral Roll Schedule

During the meeting, officials also briefed political party representatives about the upcoming schedule of the Special Intensive Revision programme, the process for filing claims and objections, and the timeline for the publication of the revised electoral rolls.
