Dehradun/Almora: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday participated virtually in the inauguration of the Shrawani Fair 2025 organized by the Jageshwar Temple Committee. On this occasion, he extended his best wishes to all devotees and organizers of the fair.
The Chief Minister said that Jageshwar Dham is a symbol of Uttarakhand’s ancient cultural heritage. He remarked that the Shrawani Fair is not merely a religious event, but also a vibrant expression of local faith, traditions, and cultural values.
Highlighting the broader national context, the Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is witnessing a golden era of cultural renaissance. The construction of the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Mahakal Lok, and the reconstruction of Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines are prime examples of this revival.
He further informed that under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, the state government is committed to the conservation and development of major religious sites in Kumaon. In the first phase of the Jageshwar Master Plan, projects worth ₹146 crore have already been approved, with development works for the second phase also sanctioned.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that in Almora district, a 40-km cycling track is being developed along the Kosi river. Shitlakhet is being promoted as an eco-tourism destination, while Dwarahat and Binsar are being developed for spiritual tourism.
He said that Uttarakhand is working to become a leading state in the country. According to a NITI Aayog report, Uttarakhand ranks first in the country in achieving Sustainable Development Goals. The state’s unemployment rate has fallen below the national average, and over the past four years, more than 24,000 young people have been provided government jobs.
The Chief Minister also noted that to safeguard religious and cultural values, the state government has implemented a strict anti-conversion law, is moving ahead with the Uniform Civil Code, and has launched stringent measures like ‘Operation Kalnemi.’
The program was attended by Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta, MLA Mohan Singh Mehra, Vice President of the Temple Management Committee Naveen Bhatt, District Magistrate of Almora Alok Kumar Pandey, Chief Development Officer Ramji Sharan Sharma, and other dignitaries.
