Funds sanctioned for roads, water supply, infrastructure, and Kumbh Mela 2027 preparations
Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given financial approval of ₹146.19 crore for various development projects across the state. The sanctioned projects cover areas such as road expansion, education, water supply, energy efficiency, departmental infrastructure, and preparations for the upcoming Kumbh Mela 2027.
Key Approvals:
Nainital District (Kaladhungi area):
Approval of ₹3.81 crore for the widening of the road from Government Primary School, Bhagwanpur to Government Inter College, Lamachaur, connecting to the Kaladhungi main route.
Bageshwar District:
Allocation of ₹4.73 crore for the retrofitting of pumps and motors, along with the supply and installation of energy-efficient centrifugal pump sets under the Bodi Dhuraphat Pumping Scheme.
Haridwar District:
Approval of ₹7.07 crore for the construction of an office and central storehouse for the Directorate of Prosecution at Roshnabad, with 40% of the funds to be released as the first installment.
Kumbh Mela 2027 Preparations:
Sanction of nearly ₹113 crore for new construction works related to Kumbh Mela 2027. Out of this, ₹10 crore will be released as a token amount during the current financial year.
Water Supply & Sanitation Department:
Approval of 20 projects with a total cost of ₹17.58 crore under NABARD. These include 3 projects of Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan (₹9.22 crore) and 17 projects of Uttarakhand Peyjal Nigam (₹8.36 crore), covering water supply and solar grid initiatives.
Approval of Democracy Fighter Honor Pension
In a significant decision honoring democracy fighters, CM Dhami has approved the pension of Devki Devi, wife of late Shyam Dutt Tiwari, resident of Kichha, Udham Singh Nagar. She will receive ₹16,000 per month from June 14, 2017 to October 13, 2022, and ₹20,000 per month from October 14, 2022 onwards, including arrears.
