Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Attends Diwali Milan Ceremony at BJP State Office in Dehradun
Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Diwali Milan ceremony organized at the BJP State Office in Dehradun on Monday. The Chief Minister inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp and offered prayers during the Diwali puja held on the occasion.
The event was attended by Rajya Sabha MPs and BJP leaders Mahendra Bhatt and Naresh Bansal, MLAs Suresh Gadhiya and Khajan Das, along with several other legislators, state officials, party workers, and representatives of various organizations.
Extending his heartfelt greetings to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Chief Minister Dhami said that the festival symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, harmony over discord, and prosperity over adversity. He added that Diwali not only strengthens the bonds of unity but also inspires positivity and collective progress.
Speaking on the economic significance of the festival, the Chief Minister said that Diwali also reflects India’s growing economic strength and social vitality. He highlighted that the implementation of the Next Generation GST by the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made doing business easier and more transparent across the country.
He noted that the reduction in GST rates has brought relief to traders and consumers alike, turning this year’s Diwali into a true “Maha Savings Festival.”
Chief Minister Dhami further stated that Prime Minister Modi’s call for ‘Swadeshi’ and a self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat) is now transforming the nation’s economic landscape. “India is no longer just a vast market; it is fast emerging as a global economic powerhouse,” he said, referring to recent remarks by the British Prime Minister acknowledging India’s trajectory toward becoming the world’s largest economy by 2028.
Reiterating his commitment to the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Vocal for Local,’ the Chief Minister urged everyone to adopt and promote indigenous products. He emphasized that this will not only strengthen the national economy but also create vast employment opportunities for the youth.
Dhami said the Uttarakhand government is fully aligned with this vision and is making consistent efforts to make the state self-reliant, strong, and prosperous. He called upon everyone to take forward the pledge of building a self-reliant India and inspire others to join this collective mission.
