Dehradun – Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the “GST Savings Festival” organized in Premnagar, Dehradun, to spread awareness about the recent nationwide reduction in GST rates and its direct benefits for the public.
During his visit to the Premnagar market on Monday, the Chief Minister interacted with traders and shopkeepers to gather feedback on the new GST slabs. He appealed to the business community to actively inform customers about the reduced tax rates and to prioritize the promotion of indigenous goods.
CM Dhami inspected various local establishments and emphasized that giving preference to locally made products not only strengthens the Indian economy but also empowers small entrepreneurs, cottage industries, and rural businesses. “When we adopt indigenous products, we contribute to building a self-reliant India and provide strength to both rural and urban entrepreneurs,” he said.
Highlighting the government’s reforms, the Chief Minister said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, economic reforms and welfare measures are progressing hand in hand. The reduction in GST rates has provided relief to all sections of society—whether homemakers or small businesses—everyone is benefitting.”
He further underlined that initiatives like the GST Savings Festival give citizens a direct platform to understand the positive outcomes of government policies and engage with them in real time.
Local residents, traders, women, youth, and senior citizens who attended the event expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling the reduction in GST a genuine relief for household budgets and a boost for business. Many termed it a “gift” from the double-engine government to the people.
MLA Savita Kapoor, BJP Metropolitan President Siddharth Agarwal, State Minister Aditya Chauhan, and several party leaders were also present on the occasion.
