UTTARAKHAND: CM Dhami inaugurates Mostamanu Mahotsav in Pithoragarh

CM Dhami inaugurates and lays foundation stones of 15 development projects worth ₹62 crore during Mostamanu Mahotsav

 

Dehradun/Pithoragarh: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday participated virtually in the Mostamanu Mahotsav organized in Pithoragarh district. On this occasion, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 15 development projects worth over ₹62 crore, covering key sectors such as health, education, drinking water, tourism, and infrastructure.

Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami said that the Mostamanu fair is not just a religious or traditional celebration, but a vibrant symbol of Uttarakhand’s faith, heritage, and cultural identity. He added that such events reflect the deep connection of rural life with agriculture and animal husbandry while also playing an important role in preserving traditions for future generations.

Highlighting the government’s efforts towards cultural and religious heritage conservation, the Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, significant steps are being taken for the revival of mythological temples in Kumaon’s Manaskhand region, just like the development of Kedarkhand.

# Beautification of the Mostamanu temple has been taken up at a cost of ₹1 crore.

# Renovation of the Haat Kalika Temple in Gangolihat is in progress at a cost of over ₹6 crore.

# Construction of modern parking facilities near Bajeti Shani Temple, Hanuman Temple and Laxmi Narayan Temple is underway at a cost of ₹43 crore.

The Chief Minister also shared details of major development projects in Pithoragarh district:

  • Medical Infrastructure: A ₹750 crore medical college is under construction in Pithoragarh along with a 50-bed critical care block worth ₹21 crore.

  • Transport & Connectivity: New bus stations in Askot, Gangolihat, and Dharchula are being built at a cost of ₹25 crore. A roadways workshop has already been completed in Pithoragarh.

  • Road Projects: Construction of several rural roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is progressing with an investment of over ₹327 crore.

  • Air Connectivity: Pithoragarh is already connected with Haldwani, Dehradun, and Delhi through air services. An MoU has been signed between the Airport Authority of India and the state government to modernize the Naini Saini Airport at a cost of ₹450 crore.

CM Dhami also emphasized the importance of promoting indigenous products in line with PM Modi’s appeal for Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). He appreciated the stalls at the fair showcasing local products made by artisans, farmers, women’s groups, and self-help organizations, urging people to follow the mantra of “Adopt Swadeshi, Make the Nation Strong.”

The Chief Minister also made several new announcements for Pithoragarh district:

  • Landslide treatment work in Gram Sabha Devat Purchauda (Bin block).

  • Protective works on Naini Saini–Devat Purchauda–Kumdar to Kanari motor road.

  • Construction of Eco Park and Smriti Van in Chandak.

  • Beautification of Mostamanu temple.

  • Road widening (double cutting) from Ghantakarn to Chandak in Pithoragarh city.

  • Road construction from Halpati village to Mostamanu.

  • Development of a City Garden near Naini Saini airport.

On this occasion, BJP District President Girish Joshi, former District Panchayat President Deepika Bora, Superintendent of Police Rekha Yadav, Mayor Kalpana Devlal, DFO Ashutosh Singh, Fair Committee President Virendra Bora, along with other officials and a large number of devotees were present.
