DEHRADUN: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a review meeting on Friday at his residence regarding the ongoing GST awareness campaign and the Swadeshi promotion drive being conducted across Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister said that the new GST rates, which came into effect on September 22, mark a milestone for the state’s economy and will provide direct benefits to local industries and the general public. He directed all public representatives to intensify awareness activities so that information about the revised tax structure reaches every section of society.
Emphasizing the importance of the Swadeshi campaign, CM Dhami said that the initiative is aimed at boosting the sale and use of indigenous products, thereby strengthening both the state and national economy. “The dream of a self-reliant India and a self-reliant Uttarakhand can only be realized when we adopt and promote local products,” he stated.
He urged elected representatives to actively promote the campaign in their respective constituencies and ensure outreach to every small and large business owner across village councils and municipal bodies. He added that this campaign should be transformed into a mass movement, particularly during the upcoming festive season, when the demand for goods and products is at its peak.
Highlighting the vision behind the campaign, the Chief Minister said, “By choosing Swadeshi, we not only strengthen our economy but also honor our traditions and empower local entrepreneurs.”
The meeting was attended virtually by Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj, MLA Renu Bisht, along with other public representatives.
