Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday called upon government employees to work with sensitivity, dedication, and a simplified approach, emphasizing that their work directly impacts the lives of citizens, especially those in remote areas.
Addressing a gathering organized by the Uttarakhand Secretariat Association at the Secretariat, CM Dhami said, “The words that come from the pens of government employees are not just administrative orders—they become rays of hope for people across the state. Your dedication is the backbone of Uttarakhand’s development.”
The Chief Minister expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army for its bravery and valor along the border, particularly amid rising tensions with Pakistan. “Every citizen of Veer Bhoomi Uttarakhand stands firmly with our soldiers under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.
During the event, CM Dhami laid the foundation stone for a new six-storey building in the Secretariat complex. “This is not just a structure of brick and mortar—it is the soul of governance in our state,” he remarked. The new building aims to provide enhanced facilities and a more efficient working environment for government staff.
Highlighting various employee welfare measures, CM Dhami said the government has taken historic steps in the interest of Secretariat personnel. These include:
Approval of ₹3 crore for new furniture and computers
Renovation of the Secretariat Union Building, canteen, and badminton court
Construction of a 70-car capacity parking lot
Establishment of a blood collection center offering 270 free tests
Creation of an air-conditioned crèche and a modern physiotherapy center
Provision of two years of Child Care Leave (CCL) for women employees
Enhancement of the retirement gratuity limit from ₹20 lakh to ₹25 lakh
Allocation of ₹25 lakh to the Employee Welfare Fund

Timely promotions and benefits such as ACP

He also emphasized the government’s commitment to digitizing the Secretariat through e-governance, including a file tracking system, digital service books, and steps toward a paperless office.
“Our goal is not just to solve problems, but to create a digital, transparent, and efficient Secretariat where public interest is paramount,” CM Dhami concluded. “We are fully committed to our vision of making Uttarakhand the best state in the country.”
