Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Visits Border Village Milam; Interacts with ITBP Jawans and Local Residents, Announces Development Projects

Pithoragarh – Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the strategically important border village of Milam in the Munsyari region of Pithoragarh district on Wednesday. During his visit, the Chief Minister met with Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel stationed in the area and commended their unwavering commitment and courage in serving the nation under challenging geographical and climatic conditions.
Addressing the jawans, Chief Minister Dhami said that their dedication, discipline, and patriotism are an inspiration for every citizen. “The contribution of our soldiers in safeguarding the nation’s frontiers is invaluable. Despite extreme weather and isolation, their spirit of service remains unshaken,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister also held an open interaction with local villagers to understand their issues and aspirations. Discussions centered around infrastructure development, education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and the provision of basic civic amenities in remote areas. He informed the villagers about various welfare schemes and development initiatives being implemented by the state government.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to the progress of border regions, Chief Minister Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ‘Vibrant Village Programme’ is being effectively carried out to ensure the comprehensive development of border settlements. “Our aim is to strengthen these villages with improved road connectivity, communication, healthcare, education, and employment avenues, so that they become self-reliant and vibrant,” he added.
Reiterating the state government’s resolve to promote balanced growth in frontier regions, the Chief Minister said that efforts are underway to enhance the quality of life of people residing along the borders through better infrastructure, connectivity, and livelihood options. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the residents of the border villages for their cooperation, resilience, and unwavering devotion to the nation.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Dhami announced several development projects for the region:

Construction of an indoor stadium at Johar Club, Munsyari.

Beautification of the Nanda Devi Temple at Milam village.

Establishment of a community meeting center in Bilju village.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by ITBP Inspector General Sanjay Gunjyal, senior officers, ITBP personnel, and local citizens during his visit. The event reflected the state government’s proactive approach toward strengthening both security and socio-economic infrastructure in Uttarakhand’s remote border areas.
