Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has made two significant announcements for the rehabilitation and relief of people affected by the recent disaster in Dharali village, Uttarkashi district. These steps reflect the state government’s sensitivity and promptness in disaster management.
₹5 Lakh Assistance for Fully Damaged Houses
The Chief Minister announced that in Dharali village, Bhattwadi tehsil, residents whose houses have been completely destroyed or rendered uninhabitable will be provided an immediate assistance of ₹5 lakh for rehabilitation/relocation. Families of those who lost their lives in the disaster will also receive ₹5 lakh as financial support to help them during this difficult time.
Committee for Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Livelihood Strengthening
The Chief Minister also announced the formation of a three-member committee for the rehabilitation, overall recovery, and sustainable livelihood strengthening of the disaster-affected villagers. Headed by the Revenue Secretary, this committee will submit its preliminary report to the government within a week. It will prepare a long-term and effective policy framework to ensure the safety and livelihood of the Dharali community.
The Chief Minister assured that the state government stands firmly with every disaster-affected citizen and that relief and rehabilitation measures will be implemented swiftly and effectively.
