CM Dhami Inaugurates ₹142.25 Crore Development Projects in Gairsain; Pays Tribute to Statehood Martyrs

Uttarakhand’s summer capital Gairsain witnessed a grand two-day celebration marking the state’s silver jubilee, with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹142.25 crore.

Participating in the program held at the Assembly premises in Bharadisain, the Chief Minister paid respectful tributes to the martyrs of the Uttarakhand statehood movement and honored veteran agitators by presenting them with shawls.

Major Development Boost

The Chief Minister launched and initiated a total of 60 projects, including:

  • Inauguration of 27 projects worth ₹43.63 crore

  • Foundation stone laying for 33 projects worth ₹98.62 crore

He also visited various departmental stalls and felicitated individuals who achieved remarkable work in sports, education, agriculture, and other fields.

Spectacular Parade Marks the Occasion

Contingents from ITBP, IRB, Civil Police, Home Guards, Women Constables, Fire Services, and NCC women cadets put up an impressive parade, accompanied by the 46th Battalion PAC band, which the Chief Minister also inspected.

Tribute and Vision for Uttarakhand

Greeting citizens on the state’s Silver Jubilee, the Chief Minister honored the country’s brave soldiers and the statehood activists who laid down their lives for Uttarakhand’s creation.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi elevated the state’s pride by participating in the main Silver Jubilee event and gifting development projects worth over ₹8,200 crore, while setting a clear vision for Uttarakhand’s future.

The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s resolve to make Uttarakhand the spiritual capital of the world. He highlighted the rapid restoration and beautification works of ancient temples under Kedarkhand and Manaskhand.

Emotionally remembering Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said the former Prime Minister not only created a new state but also strengthened Uttarakhand through a special industrial package that shaped its development path.

Development Plans for Gairsain

The Chief Minister said multiple schemes are underway for the holistic development of Gairsain. By adopting Sarkot village, the government aims to model it into a model village with coordinated efforts from departments and local residents.

He added that new policies and schemes have positioned Uttarakhand among the leading states in various national indicators. Rapid improvement in the state’s growth rate, declining unemployment by 4.4%, and increased farm incomes reflect this progress.

Uttarakhand has also achieved:

  • 1st rank in the Sustainable Development Index

  • Most Film-Friendly State Award

  • Significant advancement in infrastructure, education, health, air and rail connectivity

He noted that initiatives like the Mandir Mala Mission, One District One Fair, and adventure tourism are boosting the state’s economy.

Strict Governance Measures

Highlighting governance reforms, he said strict land laws have curbed the land mafia, and anti-cheating laws have ensured transparency in recruitment exams. Uttarakhand has emerged as a model state for the Prime Minister’s Local to Global vision.

A DPR is being prepared for a master plan to develop Gairsain and surrounding regions as smart cities, he announced.
Additionally, Chaukhutia, Jyotirmath, and Ghanshali will now be included under the UDAN regional air connectivity scheme.
